About Nancy
I am not sure where I got my wanderlust. The longest trip we ever took as children was driving to Michigan to see relatives. 12 hour ride with four of us in the back seat….not a big incentive to travel!
However, once I graduated from college, I started planning a back packing trip to Europe and, within a year, was on my way. Three months of complete independence - Oktoberfest, Paris, Venice, Greece, etc. and I was hooked.
Next …. a cross country trek with my sister in my little orange Volkswagen. My father built us a big box that was attached to the top of the car for our camping gear (another story). He painted it white with a bright orange bow. We met more people because you could not miss the car!
With Al, my late husband, our trips often involved some history. He would take me to a battleground, tell me to close my eyes then describe what had happened ……. Imagination coming alive!
To Al roughing it was a Holiday Inn. So, when I wanted to go to Africa, his response was “Why? We have a zoo here”. China - “Why, we can go have dinner in Chinatown”.
But, he always let me go….and took care of the business while I was away.
My “claim to fame” is that my toes have touched every continent. Fabulous memories.
I have been blessed to have met John, who has the same sense of adventure. And off we go…..

About John
I have been a traveler since I was very young. When my aunt, uncle and cousin moved to Florida in the early 60s, I would travel by rail each summer from the Trenton N.J R.R. Station to Ft. Lauderdale. This was back in the days when there were old gentlemen porters, linen table cloths, heavy silverware and water goblets on the dinner tables. Plus, I wore a suit throughout the 19 hour train trip.

Later, as an adult, with my late wife Sandy, we spent a summer touring Europe. We traveled from Amsterdam to Mannheim Germany. Then by train to Munich and over the Alps to Venice and then to Rome.
In later years we traveled with friends to Peru to visit Machu Picchu, to China to see the Great Wall, the Terra Cotta Warriors, Beijing and Shanghai and back to Italy multiple times. Ask me about the time I was arrested in Rome or about the time my sons and friend waxed a swimming pool in Umbria!

Together with Nancy, we have gone to Singapore, Bali, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Mexico, Cinque Terra, Florence, and Venice. One year we traveled to the Galapagos to follow the travels of my hero, Charles Darwin. While in the East Indies we traveled along the route of Alfred Russel Wallace, the man who co-conceived of the Theory of Evolution with Darwin.

And now...off to see many interesting sites, people, and FOOD!
